Korou Ora was founded on a simple belief: meaningful change happens when knowledge is translated into practice. Through working with government agencies, NGOs, and community organisations across the health and social services sectors, it became clear that many organisations are committed to delivering culturally responsive services but often need practical support to embed kaupapa Māori approaches into everyday operations.
This challenge drives the work of Korou Ora. The focus is on helping organisations move beyond understanding kaupapa Māori in principle to applying it in ways that strengthen policy, service delivery, engagement, and organisational practice. By building capability, confidence, and culturally safe ways of working, Korou Ora supports organisations to develop stronger relationships with Māori communities and achieve more responsive, equitable, and effective outcomes.
